The Gemini Full Moon, 12/2

It’s happening 12:30 AM MST on 12/2.

With all full moons, something in our lives is finally seen in full light.  Often, we persist in repetitive lessons until we really, truly see what they’ve come into our lives to offer.  Situations and relationships that have persisted and/or come full circle and are ready to go can become obvious under the light of a full moon.

As it traffics in the sky, Moon brings awareness of our feeling sides.  The impact of a full moon is on that part of us, unavoidably putting our attention on the emotional side of things.

Whatever in that category comes up for you during this full moon, underlying them is the theme of the signs involved, the conversation between them.  Gemini and Sagittarius as an axis pair have to do with different ways of dealing with information – different ways of knowing.

Sagittarius seeks experience to help it develop belief, or reasons to live, or philosophy.  Gemini explores the world around it, gathering data and new information, always expanding the ground on which truth might be known.

The full moon is going to ask us to feel new things, or perhaps in new directions, or to explore new ways of naming and communicating about our feelings.  This axis pair is all about information in-and-out.  The focus on Gemini says that it’s time to reach out in new directions, for both input and output.

Squaring the Sun-Moon opposition is Eros (433) in Pisces.  What needs to be felt into, explored and communicated may feel pushed in one direction or the other by the simultaneous need to surrender (Pisces) to something that lights our fire (Eros).  Squares from Pisces to Gemini ask for some amount of faith in what we can’t know with the rational mind or, even, articulate clearly.  As the full-moon feelings come up, look to what in your passions doesn’t want to be left out of your Geminian feeling trip.

The ruler of the full moon, Mercury, is at 24 Sagittarius closely conjunct the asteroid Arjunsuri (20300), square Uranus-Juno in Pisces, and opposing retrograde Lucifer (1930) in Gemini – it’s a T-square in mutable signs.  Looking at Mercury’s placement to tell us more about how we can reach out to new infos and ways of communicating, the nutshell version of this is that where we question whom to trust for answers to our questions, the process of doubting can lead us to deeper trust of our own intuition and inner knowing if we surrender to who we know we truly are.

(Here’s that again, with the astro shorthand tossed in:

…the nutshell version of this is that where we question whom to trust for answers to our questions (Mercury-Arjunsuri), the process of doubting (opposed by Lucifer in Gemini) can lead us to deeper trust of our own intuition and inner knowing if we surrender to who we know we truly are (square Uranus-Juno in Pisces).)

All this happening in mutable signs says that flexibility and openness to change is a valuable strategy.  Or, maybe, that flexibility and openness to change are the only ways to happily navigate the questions about emotion and other Moon things that come up around and during the full moon.

Who really likes change?  Not many.  Some of those who do really just like new information, new people, new routines – which is different than actual change.  This full moon might call on you to risk identifying and articulating feelings that lead you to actual change, finding out what in your life is ready to be fully seen and fully let go.
